Implementing Wiki as an Asynchronous Tool to Enhance the Grammatical and Lexical Accuracy of Saudi Secondary-School Learners’ EFL Writing

Wikis have been increasingly integrated into English-writing teaching and served as one of the Web’s most crucial social-networking tools, improving writing EFL learners worldwide. The purpose this study has to examine positive effects wiki-mediated collaborative peer feedback on grammatical lexical accuracy Saudi learners’ writing. To end, 26 female secondary-school participated in were selected from a private school Riyadh. They randomly assigned control group (N=12) an experimental (N=14). Both groups given identical task. However, group, members individually completed task, which was then reviewed by teacher, while collaboratively peers wiki platform. data collection for rests pre- post-writing tests. obtained suggest that significantly improved participants’ grammatical, but not lexical, their results post-test also reveal outperformed regarding average total errors. confirm efficiency with wiki-based writing-oriented instruction can improve accuracy.
